About
One person, one problem
Office Shrimp is a stand-up reminder for iPhone that notices when you have already moved. I'm Dejan Sobota, an independent developer, and I make it on my own.
Why I made it
I sit at a desk for most of the day, and so do my friends. We all know we should get up more, and none of us do it reliably. A timer doesn't fix that: it goes off whether or not you just walked to the kitchen, so it nags people who are already moving and says nothing new to people who aren't.
Office Shrimp reads the motion sensor in your iPhone, and your Apple Watch if you have one, so a walk counts when you take it. The number of reminders you get follows what you did.
Who I am
My background is web design and development, mostly in Webflow. Office Shrimp is the first iPhone app I have built.
It changes because people use it
A small group has been using it every day, and their reports change the app. One example: a tester found that pausing the reminders left the countdown on the lock screen still running. Pausing now takes it away.
What it will and won't do
- It has no account, and nothing leaves your phone.
- It does not detect posture. A phone can't see your spine, so the posture reminder is only a reminder.
- It makes no medical claims. Pain is a question for a clinician.
The details of what it reads and stores are in the privacy policy.
